Geographical Information Systems
Effective data management is a pivotal aspect of enhancing efficiency in Gorgon's projects. Gorgon deals with spatial data, and it is critical to ascertain the precise location of landscape features or artifacts in relation to any proposed industrial project. Gorgon employs Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to facilitate the visualization, analysis, and communication of the various factors that may affect the siting of industrial projects.

Gorgon's projects typically involve handling substantial volumes of data, aiming to address this challenge for clients, particularly during vital planning and construction stages. For the proficient and streamlined management, referencing, editing, and analysis of both field-collected and readily accessible GIS data, Gorgon has successfully implemented Web-Based GIS tools. These tools enable efficient data collection and analysis by merging mobile data collection in the field with existing layers from our online database, delivering instantaneous GIS-formatted feedback. Following data collection and its integration into the database, Project Managers and Clients can assess the data to ensure its completeness and integrity via online web mapping applications. Data can be shared between clients and contractors while on the field, saving time and money.
